VOLLUTO DECAFFEINATO CAPSULE REVIEW
Now that Nespresso is releasing decaf versions of its most popular capsules, rather than attempting to create original decaf coffees, things are looking way brighter for those of us who though decaf was blasphemy. Volluto being one of my favorite capsules, I was looking forward to trying Volluto Decaffeinato and didn’t get disappointed. This decaffeinated version was able to preserve Volluto’s subtle flavors and while it doesn’t taste as strong, its texture is consistent enough to not feel diluted, like it’s often the case with decaf coffees.
COFFEE PAIRING
- Activities: Works anytime, even in the morning as it doesn’t feel like decaf. That said, if you need your morning kick-start, make sure to get started with a caffeinated capsule.
- Music: I was listening to the just re-released Led Zeppelin’s album Presence, which is one of their latest and softer albums, thus matching well the decaf experience.
- Food: Definitely something chocolaty, whether it’s milk or dark, including chocolate bars, biscuits, cookies or croissants.
PACKAGING
As you might have noticed, Nespresso revamped its decaf line. Gone are the all red capsules, the Decaf capsules being identical to their caffeinated counterparts, a red dot at the top marking the difference (see picture on the right). This box looks like the Volluto box adding a red dot and Decaffeinato and including 10 golden capsules.
