Nespresso Lisbon Bica review: capsule and coffee cup

Lisbon Bica is a 2024 Limited Edition World Explorations capsule made of a blend of Robusta beans from Nicaragua and El Salvador.

NESPRESSO LISBON BICA REVIEW

Contrary to other capsules which flavors linger, Nespresso’s Lisbon Bica delivers a quick jolt before fading away. While it is an enjoyable dark and bitter affair, its body is a bit too thin for my taste. As for the spicy notes Nespresso mentions, I am still looking for them but, as the earlier reference to a quick jolt can attest, I live in LA and am used to spicy food so maybe others will be more receptive to it. Now, for those of you who would be put off by a bitter espresso, I also tried it with ice, water and a dash of milk which worked better with the roasted cereal notes and allowed the bitterness to create contrast rather than taking center stage. Since I like my coffee black, I’m not fully convinced that this capsule is for me, even though the fact that you can turn it into a satisfying summer drink is a plus. Would that I order it again? Probably not.
